The fifth edition of the Chicobum Festival, taking place at Borgaro's (Turin) Parco Chico Mendez from the 4th of June to the 31st of July, is going to welcome all visitors in an area with a double size compared to last one's. More parking zones, an improved logistics, free buses to and from the train station and rebuilding works to the whole structure -asphalted roads included- can now grant a better service and efficiency, the organizers (i.e. the Association Barrumba) assure.
By presenting the show, the vice-mayor of Borgaro has invited all citizens living in the sourroundings to patiente and tolerance with respect to high volumes and scheduled times. The involvement of the young this year has even been greater than usual, comprising, in fact, a concrete cooperation between the Chicobum and a number of students, realized both from a technical point of view (help in the arrengement of lights, sound,...) and regarding more socializing aspects (catering distribution, preparation of coffee breaks,...).
The commitment of the festival to care about problems and exigencies concerning the youth is also evident in two other intiatives. An agreement of mutual support has been made with "Giù le mani dai bambini" (=Hands off kids), a campaign launched to save children from possible abuses in the administration of medical drugs (www.giulemanidaibambini.org). Furthermore, the subscriprion card to all concerts at a reduced price* will also include a 20 E discount to the Carta Musei (Museums card), thus showing a strict link between music, art and culture.
The musical scene will be enriched by the presence of such international famous names as
Sean Paul, Nickelback, Michael Bublè, The Darkness together with some Italian interesting singers and bands, namely
Le Vibrazioni, PFM, Mario Venuti, Verdena, Persiana Jones. The quite varied programme, ranging from rock to pop, rap, jazz and reggae, is therefore able to satisfy everybody's tastes.

La quinta edizione del Chicobum Festival, che avrà luogo al Parco Chico Mendez di Borgaro (Torino) dal 4 Giugno al 31 Luglio, accoglierà tutti i visitatori in un'area di dimensione doppia rispetto a quella dell'anno precedente. Più zone adibite a parkeggio, una migliorata logistica, bus gratis da e verso la stazione dei treni e opere di ristrutturazione all'intera struttura -strade asfaltate incluse- possono ora garantire un servizio e un'efficienza più consoni, assicurano gli organizzatori (i.e. l'Associazione Barrumba).
Nel presentare la manifestazione, il vice-sindaco di Borgaro ha invitato tutti i cittadini residenti nelle vicinanze alla pazienza e alla tolleranza, sia in termini di alti volumi sia di orari previsti. Il coinvolgimento dei giovani quest'anno è stato anche maggiore del solito, comprendendo, infatti, una concreta collaborazione tra il Chicobum e un certo numero di studenti, realizzata sia da un punto di vista tecnico (aiuto nella sistemazione di luci, suono,...), sia riguardo aspetti relativi una più ampia socializzazione (distribuzione catering, preparazione di coffee breaks,...).
L'impegno del festival a preoccuparsi dei problemi e delle esigenze dei giovani è altresì evidente in ulteriori due iniziative. Un accordo di mutuo supporto è stato fatto con “Giù le mani dai bambini”, una campagna lanciata per salvare i bambini da possibili abusi nella somministrazione di psicofarmaci (www.giulemanidaibambini.org). Inoltre l'abbonamento a tutti i concerti a un prezzo ridotto* includerà anche uno sconto di 20 € sulla Carta Musei, dimostrando in tal modo lo stretto legame esistente tra musica, arte e cultura.
La scena musicale sarà arricchita dalla presenza di famosi nomi internazionali quali
Sean Paul, Nickelback, Michael Bublè, The Darkness insieme a interessanti cantanti e gruppi Italiani del calibro di
Le Vibrazioni, PFM, Mario Venuti, Verdena, Persiana Jones. L'alquanto variegato programma, che spazia dal rock al pop, rap, jazz e reggae, è dunque in grado di soddisfare i gusti di tutti.
